The beauty and sadness in the patterns of two chemical reactions
Fragments of a recently shot, caffenol processed super 8mm film are intertwined with film footage shot by the artist on his first camera in the early 1990’s. A section of this recent film is shot with the lens cap still in place.
The record of what the artist saw when he shot the film exists only in his memory. The images captured on the fabric of the film suggest something organic and embryonic, but also represent the deterioration of the image and physical state over real time.
